BreastsSwedish boffins have discovered that drinking coffee can have a serious effect on a woman’s breast measurements.

The scientists from Lund University in Sweden studied 300 women, recording details of their breast dimensions and coffee intake. The alarming results showed that drinking as little as three cups of coffee a day could shrink boobs, and the risks increased the more coffee consumed.

“Drinking coffee can have a major effect on breast size,” said Helena Jernstroem, top boffin at Lund University in Sweden.

“Coffee-drinking women do not have to worry their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts aren’t just going to disappear. However, anyone who thinks they can tell which women are coffee drinkers just from their bra measurements will be disappointed. The problem is that there are two measures for a bra, the cup size and the girth, so you wouldn’t be able to tell.”

Although this all sounds like bad news for breast lovers, the good news is drinking coffee helps reduce the risk of breast cancer. They may be smaller, but at least they’re longer lasting.

A teenager broke into the home of two sisters in their late teens and early twenties, and stole items of their underwear before fleeing the scene of the crime.

18-year-old John Forrest, from Eskhill in Scotland, entered the home of the two young women at around 11pm. As one of the sisters sat downstairs with her boyfriend, and the younger woman sat in her bedroom, Forrest crept upstairs and rummaged through one of the women’s lingerie drawers. He seized several items of undergarments and fled the scene. However on leaving the house a security light was activated and Mr Forrest was spotted by one of the women and her boyfriend.

The woman’s boyfriend, Stewart Davidson, gave chase down the street following a trail of abandoned knickers until he caught hold of Mr Forrest. At this point Forrest bit Mr Davidson on the arm, in a bid to escape his grip.

The two sisters then arrived at the scene and Mr Forrest was held until police arrived. Although a sexual motive was assumed by investigating officers Mr Forrest has refused to comment.

Mr Forrest was sentenced to three months in a young offenders institute today by Edinburgh Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to all charges.

Abbie Hawkins Bat Bra19 year old hotel receptionist Abbie Hawkins made the unusual discovery of finding a baby bat had set up home in her underwear.

Abbie wasn’t even aware she had a lodger in her bra until she’d been wearing it for several hours. The receptionist at The Holiday Inn near Norwich International Airport had noticed a “vibrating” against her ample chest multiple times that morning but dismissed the sensation as being her mobile phone.

After checking for text messages, and removing the phone from her jacket pocket she realised the phone wasn’t the cause of the vibrating and investigated further. She reached into her D cup to find a small furry flying mammal nestled in her bosom.

“Once I realised it was a bat I was shocked, but then I felt quite sorry for it really. It looked very snug in there and I thought how mean I was for disturbing it.” she told reporters.

Abbie explained that the bra had been on the washing line the day previously, but it had been in her underwear draw all night and she hadn’t noticed the hand-sized flying mammal in the cup when she put the bra on that morning.

“I keep thinking how could I have not known it was there? Whenever I talk about it nobody believes me. Thank goodness people at work saw what happened or people may have thought I was crazy. I will certainly be checking my bras every morning from now on!”

The bat flew to a dark corner of the hotel reception when it was yanked from it’s warm nest, and was later released into the wild by the hotel manager.

Under the 1981 Act it is a criminal offence for anyone without the permission of Natural England, to handle a bat or to disturb a bat or its roost. Natural England must be notified about any operation likely to disturb bats or their roosts, and must be allowed time to advise on how to minimise disturbance to the bats. Abbie may now face prosecution for removing the bat from her bra without first notifying a team of experts to come and inspect her breasts.
