Four members of the same family have been murdered in North India for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

Lakhan Majhi, aged 65, was forced to face a public trail for witchcraft after hundreds of his neighbours accused him of putting a curse on a fellow villager who later fell ill and died.

Majhi, along with his wife, son and daughter in law were then beaten with sticks and stones, dragged into the jungle and buried alive.

This isn’t an isolated incident, Bengal police report that in the past few years around 750 people have been killed for practicing witchcraft in the Northern parts of India and West Bengal.

Bengal police officer, Asit Baran Choudhury has been studying the cases and says that most attacks of this kind are on widows or isolated families that own desirable land.

In some cases the accused families have challenged the authority of village leaders, that is believed to have been the actual motive for the Majhi family murders.

Mother Finds Snake Wrapped Around Baby

California King Snake New York: Cari Abatemarco was woken by her baby crying last night, when she went to investigate she looked into the baby’s crib and saw a snake wrapped around the baby’s leg.

She immediately lifted the seven month old child out of the crib and the snake dropped off.

“Once I lifted her up and the snake fell off of her, she stopped crying. But then I was the one crying all night,” Abatemarco said.

The offending reptile was plucked from the crib using a back scratcher and contained in a bucket until animal control officers arrived.

The snake was later identified as a non-venomous California king snake, and was an escaped pet.

Students Eat Cat

A group of students from the Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus have posted a picture report of themselves cooking and eating a feral cat on Facebook.

The stunt was intended to draw attention to factory farming, and the students insist the cat was killed humanely by a farmer controlling the number of feral cats on his land.

Animal rights groups however have voiced their disgust at the sensationalist protest, and Facebook have deleted the students account after receiving numerous complaints from animal lovers.

Laura Bøge Mortensen who carried out the culinary feat says she is disappointed that Facebook deleted their profile, and genuinely surprised by the reactions they received.

“We wanted people to think about what it was they were putting in their mouths,”

“It’s hypocritical for us to spend thousands on our pets, yet buy the cheapest pork from Netto that comes from pigs that have lived a horrid life. And just why is it that it’s worse to eat a cat than a pig?”

Laura continues, saying that it was something of a struggle for the group to bring themselves to eat an animal which they would normally consider a cute pet.

“We had to count to three before we sat down to eat, and I wouldn’t really say that we stuffed our face. Everyone did take a bite though,” she said, before revealing the taste was “a little like chicken, with an aftertaste of fur”.

The boy was rushed to Tianjin Childrens’ Hospital on May 27 for surgery to remove the extra organ.

Doctor’s spent over three hours removing the extra penis, and the boy is said to be perfectly normal now.

Tracey Emin Investigated By Porn Squad

Controversial artist Tracey Emin is being investigated by Scotland Yard’s Obscene Publication Unit, after complaints were made about two pieces she is displaying as a curator of The Royal Academy of Arts.

The two controversial pieces that Emin is displaying as part of the academy’s summer exhibition are The Old Fashioned Way, by Mat Collishaw, which depicts a zebra having sex with a woman. And there is also a photomontage by Elke Krystu which features a naked woman menstruating in front of a group of toddlers.

If the Obscene Publication Unit decide the works are illegal they will have to be removed or Emin and the Academy would face prosecution.

Albinos Hunted In Tanzania

African Albino Being an albino in sub-Saharan Africa is already bad enough, due to lack of resources and being over exposed to the blistering sun most sub-Saharan albinos die from skin cancer before they reach 30. On top of this they are usually shunned from society, living as outcasts begging for food or money to survive.

But things have recently become even worse for the albino community in Africa. Many people across Africa believe albinos have magical powers, or are “lucky”. Albinos are referred to as “sope”, which means “something magical inhabited by powerful evil spirits”. Because of this belief, African witch doctors have been recommending sexual intercourse with an albino as a cure for HIV for some time now. This has seen a dramatic increase in the number of albino women being raped in south-east Africa.

But the horror doesn’t end there, now albino skin and body parts are becoming a valuable commodity. In Tanzania alone there have been at least nineteen albino people, including children, killed and mutilated in the past year.

The victims are usually hacked to death with machetes, often skinned and usually with eyes, tongues and breasts gouged out.

One victim, Vumilia Makoye aged just 17, was at home eating supper with her family when two men approached their home carrying machetes. The family tried to barricade the door, but the men managed to force entry and pounced on Vumilia. As her family watched helplessly the two men sawed Vumilia’s legs off above the knee and ran off with them. Vumilia bled to death.

Al-Shaymaa Kwegyir, Tanzania’s new albino member of parliament, said, “People think we’re lucky. That’s why they’re killing us. But we’re not lucky.”

Knife Rampage in Tokyo

An unidentified man has driven a rental truck into a crowded pedestrian area in Tokyo, knocking pedestrians to the ground.

He then climbed out of the vehicle and went on a crazed stabbing spree with a large “Rambo style” survival knife. The streets were full of people in the busy electronics district of Akihabara, as it was lunchtime, and the man walked along indiscriminately stabbing and slashing people.

One witness gave this account:

“The man jumped on top of a man he had hit with his vehicle and stabbed him with a knife many times, as he walked toward Akihabara Station, he slashed nearby people at random.”

The death count is confirmed so far to be seven. Six men aged between 19 and 74 have died, and one 21 year old woman. Up to 14 others have been injured, some seriously and at least five shoppers have suffered from heart attacks.

The man was eventually stopped by an armed policeman who confronted the knife attacker, witnesses say the attacker threw down the knife and surrendered to the officer who was carrying a firearm.

The man reportedly then gave the police this statement,

“I came to Akihabara to kill people, I am tired of the world. Anyone was OK. I came alone.”

Today’s attack comes exactly seven years to the day after the shocking Osaka School Massacre, where Mamoru Takuma murdered eight children aged under nine and injured several others.

Tumour Baby Born Twice

One month old Macie Hope McCartney was found to have a huge tumour attached to her, whilst she grew in her mother’s womb.

The tumour, which was the same size as her and attached to her tailbone, was stealing her blood supply and putting her in mortal danger.

Surgeons decided to carry out a very rare and difficult operation to save the girl’s life. Macie’s mother, Keri McCartney was anaesthetised heavily and her womb was cut open taking great care not to damage the placenta. Macie was then pulled out of the womb and the tumour was safely removed before popping the nipper back inside her mother and sewing her up.

Macie was then born, in the usual manner, ten weeks later.

Dr. Darrell Cass, who performed the surgery reports that after a month in hospital for continued treatment both mother and baby are now fit to go home.

Busking Stripper

Police in Bucharest are hunting for an attractive young lady who is performing an ad hoc pole dance on the cities underground railway system.

Passengers described the dancer as a “well-dressed, attractive, student-like young woman”.

The young lady performs her routine between stops, to the tune of Tom Jones’ You Can Leave Your Hat On. She starts the track up on a portable CD player then removes her clothes and gyrates around one of the trains handrails.

Once the track finishes she puts her clothes back on and passes around a collection tin for people’s “donations”.

One passenger who witnessed the act, said: “I can’t say I didn’t like the show but I found it unusual. There are lots of kids who travel by underground and I just don’t think it’s proper.”

If caught the woman could face charges of indecent exposure and public begging.

Autistic Child Banned From Church

A Minnesota woman appeared in court yesterday, charged with violating a restraining order preventing her and her autistic son from attending their local catholic church.

The Church of St Joseph in Bertha, Minnesota took out the restraining order after 13 year old Adam Race, who suffers from autism, assaulted another child, spat at worshipers and urinated in the church font. Daniel Walz, the church pastor says he was forced to take action to protect the congregation from the six foot, sixteen stone teenager.

Adam’s mother Carol Race is defying the court order, saying that mass is very important to her son and no one has the right to refuse him access to church.

The Races have been offered a closed circuit television link-up so they can watch the mass live from the church basement, but they have declined the offer saying it has no spiritual value.

Mrs Race has admitted that Adam is sometimes difficult to control in church. On previous occasions she and her husband, Mr Race, have had to kneel or sit on the boy as he lies on the church floor flailing his arms and legs around. Sometimes it is necessary to tie his arms and legs together with a strip of fleece until he calms down, Mrs Race confesses.

During one church ceremony Adam ran from the church into the car park, leapt into a car, started it up and sat revving the engine.

“Adam’s continued presence on parish grounds not only endangers the parishioners, it is disruptive to the devout celebration of the Eucharist,” said Mr Walz. “I have repeatedly asked John and Carol to keep Adam from church; they have refused to do so.”
