25 years ago today the Brat Pack went Western with the release of Young Guns.
Young Guns is somewhat surprisingly considered one of the the most historically accurate films telling the story of legendary outlaw Billy the Kid. The film featured both Sheen brothers, Charlie Sheen and his brother Emilio Estevez who played William H. Bonney AKA Billy the Kid. Also featuring in the pack of gunslinging Regulators were ‘24‘ star Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips who was riding high on the success of La Bamba at the time.
There had been a distinct absence of cowboy movies during the 80s, compared to previous generations, and Young Guns managed to put a stylish 80s slant on the genre without totally bollocksing it up, either.
