Richard Ramirez, the infamous serial killer dubbed the Night Stalker has died from ‘natural causes’ whilst awaiting execution on death row.
Ricardo “Richard” Muñoz Ramirez was a complete and utter all round bad egg. The Texan psychopath was convicted of the brutal murders of thirteen people in 1989, following a lengthy trial, and sentenced to death. The vicious killer then spent the past 24 years languishing in the San Quentin State Prison where he even married a serial killer groupie in 1996, and completely avoided the gas chamber.
The Night Stalker’s reign of terror began in 1984 with the killing 9-year old Mei Leung in southern California and continued until his capture in August 1985 by an angry mob. Ramirez was eventually linked to over 14 horrific murders and five attempted murders, plus a string of rapes and sordid buggery sex attacks. At some of the crime scenes Ramirez had scrawled crude pentagrams and also forced some of his victims to praise Satan, even during his trial he was infamously pictured with a five-pointed-star drawn on the palm of his hand. To many people the satanic Night Stalker was pure evil incarnate, to others a lanky, greasy Hispanic drop-out with serious mental problems.
Today officials from the San Quentin State Prison have confirmed that 53-year-old Ramirez was transported to Marin General Hospital where he died early this morning from natural causes. Some news outlets are speculating that it was liver failure which finally put an end to one of America’s most bloodthirsty and notorious serial killers.
