Chilean rose tarantula

A Chilean rose tarantula has been found in Glasgow city centre. Fortunately the venomous little critter was contained within a plastic container when it was dumped near rubbish bins sometime last week.

The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are now looking to rehouse the eight-legged terror after a member of public handed handed it in to them last Thursday.

“Tarantulas might not be everyone’s ideal pet, but they are wonderful creatures and certainly don’t deserve to be dumped.” Fiona Henderson from the Scottish SPCA said.

“We’ll soon be looking to find [the spider] a knowledgeable owner who will appreciate her.”
