Nguyen Thi Loan

An eight-year-old girl with a massive, huge tumour on her leg has been refused treatment by doctors who say they don’t have the means to treat or even diagnose the condition.

Nguyen Thi Loan from the Tan Ha district in the province of Lam Dong, Vietnam, was born with an abnormal leg eight years ago. Doctors from Paediatrics Hospital No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City told Loan’s parents that she had an uncommon buildup of blood vessels, but they wouldn’t be able to perform surgery to correct it.

Over the past eight years the abnormality has grown and grown, and another tumour has appeared on Loan’s anus. The tumours are causing intense pain, and they also bleed. The little girl’s parents have taken her once more to hospital but doctor’s this time at Lam Dong General Hospital say they simply don’t have the facilities to operate on Loan.

Loan will be transferred to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City where they hope to find a miracle.
