At last Kick-Ass fans can breathe a sigh of relief, writer Mark Millar has finally confirmed that the sequel is going ahead and shooting begins in the summer.

The sequel to 2010′s excellent comic-book adaptation had been put in doubt when original director Matthew Vaughn and screenwriter Jane Goldman ruled themselves out of working on the movie. An as-yet-unnamed director and writer have now been attached to the project and production will begin later this year.

Both Chloë Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse who starred in the original film have expressed an interest in reprising their roles.
