Baby bites head off snake

A 12-month-old baby who discovered a snake slithering around his home caught the scaly critter and bit its head off.

Baby Imad Gadir who lives with his parents in Shfaram, northern Israel, was left alone for just moments whilst his mother went to fetch him some milk, but when she returned she found her little boy was already having his breakfast.

“I went to the kitchen to get him some milk, and when I came back I saw he was already eating,” Imad’s mother said.

“I screamed until the neighbors came. I still can’t believe what I saw.”

Little Imad had grabbed hold of a foot-long coin snake, then like a lot of babies he popped his new discovery straight in his mouth. Unfortunately for the reptile Imad bit down and decapitated it. Imad was taken to hospital to be on the safe side, but the coin snake is a harmless non-venomous serpent which is native to the region.
