Wingettes

Renegade gurgitator Takeru Kobayashi has been confirmed as a competitor in next month’s Wing Bowl XX chicken wing eating contest.

Wing Bowl takes place annually in Philadelphia on the Friday preceding Super Bowl. Competitors have to endure three rounds of gorging on chicken wings served to them by sexy cheerleaders known as ‘Wingettes’. Since 2009 professional competitive eaters have been disallowed from competing, and amateur gurgitator Jonathan “Super Squibb” Squibb has won the contest the past three years on the run.

Last year Kobayashi appeared at the event to perform an exhibition act eating a sandwich very quickly, but this year, free from his ties to the International Federation of Competitive Eating, Kobayashi is set to compete for the first time ever.

Former champion, and Kobayashi’s arch rival, Joey Chestnut was asked for his opinion on the Japanese gurgitators début: “Is he a Wingette” the world’s number one quipped.
