The Crow saga is still rumbling along.
News of a remake of the 1990s cult classic starring Brandon Lee, in his final role, first broke back in 2009. Since then the project has had it’s fair share of directors, writers and actors as people enter and then leave. Stephen Norrington was first on the scene, writing and directing, then Nick Cave was working on the script, and Mark Wahlberg in the starring role. All three of these eventually quit the movie, to be replaced by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (directing), Alex Tse (writing) and Bradley Cooper lined up to play Eric Draven. Again, all three quit the project, and just to make matters worse the production company, Relativity, ended up in a legal battle with Miramax who said they owned the rights after making the 1994 original.
It looked like last nail in the reboot’s coffin lid, but this week Relativity announced they had reached a deal to co-produce the film with Miramax. That news was quickly followed with the announcement of a new director, F. Javier Guitierrez, and a new writer, Jesse Wigutow, working on yet another new script.
Will this reboot ever get made? What do you reckon?: New Crow movie
