British actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Noel Clarke have both been added to the cast of Star Trek II.

Cumberbatch, who is currently starring in Sherlock on BBC One, will be playing a villain in the sequel to J.J. Abrams 2009 blockbuster. Clarke, who many remember as hapless loser Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, has also been signed up to appear in the film. Clarke is an accomplished actor, writer and director with a number of motion pictures under his belt already. No details have been released of his role in the as yet untitled Star Trek sequel, but he has been spotted trying on a red uniform.

Star Trek II is slated for a 2013 release, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban and the lovely Zoe Saldana will all be reprising their roles and Abrams will once again direct.
