A costumed superhero, or masked vigilante, was arrested in Seattle last night for allegedly assaulting several people with pepper spray.
A costumed crusader calling himself Phoenix Jones leads the Rain City Superhero Movement, a ten-strong crew who patrol Seattle breaking up violent disputes and tackling car thieves. Phoenix’s adventures are regularly chronicled at Real Life Superheroes.org, where it appears some members of the community feel intimidated by his full-on approach to crime fighting.
It seems that whilst a lot of real life superheroes are busy giving food to homeless bums, Phoenix Jones is risking life and limb to catch real bad guys.
However this weekend the costumed crime-fighter found himself on the wrong side of the law. Following an altercation in the early hours of Sunday morning Phoenix was arrested after a gang of drunken brawlers accused him of attacking them with pepper spray.
Phoenix remains adamant that he was merely defending himself and has released video footage of the altercation which he hopes will clear his good name:
What do you make of this? Do you think Phoenix Jones should be charged for assault?
