425 people dressed as characters from their favourite video games to set a brand new Guinness world record this week.

Buyseasons who own Buy Costumes and Celebrate Express, two companies which specialise in silly costumes and party accessories, organised the nerdy get together at their headquarters in Wisconsin.

Danny Girton from Guinness World of Records was at hand to verify the record, which was a promotion leading up to the companies busiest period, Halloween.

“We are thrilled to now hold the current Guinness World Record in this category” Daniel Haight who runs Buyseasons said.

“Our team works tirelessly to ship millions of Halloween costumes to our customers, but today the celebration was all about them!”

Huzzah! Check out the photos in the gallery below.
