Rogue Trooper

Comic book writer Grant Morrison has revealed that he will be writing the script for a Rogue Trooper movie.

Rogue Trooper is a hugely popular character from 2000ad, a blue-skinned, genetically engineered soldier created in 1981 by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons. The original Rogue fought in a future war on Nu-Earth, searching for the Traitor General. Hopefully Morrison’s script is going to return to this original format, and include Rogue’s self-aware equipment.

Morrison began his comic book career writing for 2000ad when he created the amazing Zenith with artist Steve Yeowell back in 1987. Since that time Morrison has written several DC and Marvel comics, including Batman R.I.P., All-Star Superman, and New X-Men. Morrison is currently working on the movie Dinosaurs vs. Aliens, which sounds absolutely incredible, and once writing that is completed he says he will make a start on Rogue.

As a hint to who might be playing the iconic blue-skinned warrior, Sam Worthington’s film company Full Clip Productions are behind the project, so he’s currently the favourite to be carrying Helm, Bagman and Gunnar.
