The latest in the many Game of Thrones casting announcements is the recasting of a character first glimpsed in the final episode of season one.

A nasty looking prisoner spotted being carted up to The Wall was a character called Rorge. Rorge is a well known character in the A Song of Ice and Fire books written by George R. R. Martin, and he’s well known for being a nasty piece of work.

When he was first spotted, sat in a cage on the back of a horse drawn cart, Rorge was being played by an unnamed actor, possibly an extra. For season two the producers have had to recast the part, and the role has gone to British actor Andy Beckwith, best known for playing Brick Top’s lackey, Errol, in Snatch.

Beckwith has been mostly typecast playing thugs, he’s also appeared in EastEnders, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Good call.
