The always controversial Boobs on Bikes parade has been refused permission by a local council on grounds of traffic management and offensiveness.
Pornographer Steve Crow organises the topless parades through the streets of different New Zealand cities to promote the annual Erotica Expo, which takes place in Auckland this month. And every year groups of stuffy prudes try to prevent the parade of models exposing their firm or flabby knockers.
In previous court action the New Zealand High Court ruled in Crow’s favour that the topless ninny-jug parade was not offensive, and he’s received a permit from Auckland to hold the procession. But Tauranga City Council have still decided to try and block the boob cavalcade, claiming that there is a traffic management issue and the likelihood of causing offence.
“I’ve been to court over the right to do this and I have won that right and I intend to continue doing this,” Crow said defiantly following the council’s meeting.
According to Crow he will be ignoring the council’s ruling and holding the whamdangler procession regardless.
“The fact that Tauranga City Council thinks it is offensive when I have just received a permit from Auckland to do it – to the best of my knowledge we don’t live in a federal system in New Zealand, so one law covers the whole country.”
“I will be there on Thursday.”
