Yorkshire Cancer Research have managed to beat their own record for the most people bouncing on space hoppers simultaneously for one minute.
Last year the organisation arranged the inaugural ‘Bounce for…’ event at the Don Valley Bowl in Sheffield and set the world record with 771 volunteers bouncing down a 100 metre racecourse. And that record wasn’t all that easy to beat, the organisers were hoping to get as many as 2,000 volunteers this year at ‘Bounce for Leeds‘ at Roundhay Park on Saturday, luckily they managed to beat their previous record with just 800 people taking part.
Although they seem to have been way off the 2,000 mark, the charity organisers are still pleased with the final results.
“The attempt was to raise £30,000 and beat the world record for people on space hoppers on a distance of 100 metres. And guess what, it looks like we’ve done it” Rachel Speight from Yorkshire Cancer Research said.
The event will of course need to be verified by Guinness World of Records before it becomes official.
