Man’s head vaporized by firework

An American man living on a trailer park in Fargo, North Dakota, celebrated Independence Day on Monday by blowing his own head off with a firework.

Eye-witnesses say 41-year-old Jesse William Burley was playing with dangerous banned fireworks on Monday night, when the accident happened.

Burley’s neighbour, Chris Hanson, has been speaking about how he was first on the scene to find Burley’s headless corpse.

According to Hanson Burley showed him the fireworks before he began lighting them, and the packaging had a warning label which read “If found please report to the U.S. government,”

“Right there and then I knew that I had to get away because I was not going to be involved in that,” Hanson said.

Burley took one of the fireworks out of the box and lit it, the firework made a terrific bang and a large cloud of smoke, but no other ill effects. But later that evening Burley decided to light another firework, one which would kill him.

“He went over into the middle of the street, and within 10 seconds of us talking to him, he lit it and all we saw was a cloud of smoke, a bang,” Hanson said.

As the smoke cleared Hanson realised something wasn’t right and walked over to where Burley’s decapitated body was lying on the ground.

“When I walked up to his body, it was nothing but his shoulders down,” he said.
