Following closely on the heels of the world’s biggest portion of chips, a pub in Yorkshire have set the world record for the largest serving of fish and chips.
Staff at the Wensleydale Heifer pub in West Witton, North Yorkshire, spent yesterday afternoon preparing a record breaking feast of deep-fried goodness. Once the huge slab of cod had been battered and fried it weighed in at an incredible 20kg (44lbs), and the portion of chips added another 24kg (52lbs) a grand total, for those who can’t add up, of 44kg (96lbs).
The record breaking meal was officially adjudicated by Guinness World of Records, and then served up to a crowd of hungry gawkers.
