Finland triumph again at Wife Carrying Championships

World Wife Carrying ChampionshipsFinnish wife carrying team Taisto Miettinen and Kristiina Haapanen have scored a hat-trick at this years Wife Carrying World Championships.

The pair managed to complete the 250m course in the fastest time, securing the title for the third year on the trot. The contest is held every year in the town of Sonkajärvi, in Finland and athletes from all around the globe compete for the title.

46-year-old Miettinen has now competed in the championships 12 times, and took first place on three occasions.
