Woman dies at her own funeral

A woman in Russia has died from a heart attack, after waking up at her own funeral.

49-year-old Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov had incorrectly been declared dead by doctors in Kazan, Russia following a heart attack and was being prepared for burial when she regained consciousness.

Mrs Mukhametzyanov was lying in an open casket as family members filed past paying their last respects when she awoke and realised she was at her own funeral. The shock brought on a second heart attack, which was actually fatal.

“Her eyes fluttered and we immediately rushed her back to the hospital but she only lived for another 12 minutes in intensive care before she died again, this time for good.” Mr Mukhametzyanov explained.

The family of the deceased are now extremely angry, they believe Mrs Mukhametzyanov would have survived if she had not been wrongly pronounced dead.
