Joey Chestnut
World’s number one gurgitator Joey Chestnut was jetted in to Beijing yesterday as a celebrity judge, and he also gave an exhibition performance to show the Chinese how it’s really done.
Chris Lam from Hong Kong managed to win the contest, he gobbled up a rather underwhelming 16 sausages and buns in ten minutes. Second place went to Lu Mingkui with 13 hot dogs, both men will need to do a lot better when they take their all expenses trips to New York next month and compete in the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island.
Following the contest Chestnut stepped up to show the amateur gurgitators how he became the world record holder for eating hot dogs, during the five minute exhibition round Joey ‘Jaws’ Chestnut jammed 39 wieners down his throat. Chestnut’s world record still stands at 68 dogs in ten minutes.
