Doctor Who will not get a full series in 2012

Doctor WhoDespite recently announcing that current Time Lord, Matt Smith is signed up for a further 14 episodes of Doctor Who it has now been confirmed that the show will not be getting a full new series next year.

This year fans of Doctor Who are being forced to endure a summer long split in the series, which ended earlier this month and will not return until the autumn. Recently it was conformed that Matt Smith would be producing fourteen more episodes of the show after the sixth series ends, leading people to the conclusion that there would be a thirteen episode series plus a Christmas special in 2012.

But yesterday BBC bigwigs revealed that there will not be a full series in 2012, and we should expect a string of special episodes to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary in 2013.
