A suspected lunatic in Malaysia has attacked and beheaded a workmate.
Witnesses at the garage in Putatan say that 37-year-old Asri Patahuddin was attacked by another mechanic on Friday morning with a machete.
33-year-old Andy Brian who also works as a mechanic at the garage described what went on.
“I turned around and saw the suspect attacking Asri with a machete so another colleague and me tried to break up the fight” Andy said.
“The suspect was, however, too strong and kicked me. He did not even stop when I hit him with a metal chair, it seemed only to make him angrier,” he said.
The other mechanics eventually fled the garage and called the police, but by the time they arrived Asri was already dead, and decapitated. When the police arrived on the scene they soon found the 36-year-old suspect loafing around outside the garage, they then found the decapitated corpse of Asri Patahuddin hidden in a sack in the workshop’s spray booth.
Police Chief Supt Ratan Kumar Singh believes the suspect may be mentally ill. When officers asked the suspect how Asri’s head became detached from his body he replied “I don’t know, it came off by itself”.
The unnamed suspect has been remanded in custody but will be transferred to Hospital Mesra for a mental evaluation.
