Nine-year-old Ethan Fisher from Worksop in Nottinghamshire has become the biggest name in space hopper circles after setting two world records on the handled rubber balls.
In February Ethan and his family were at Butlins in Skegness when they saw the Guinness World of Records activities area and Ethan literally jumped at the chance of setting a new world record. The youngster was immediately drawn to the space hoppers as the previous summer he had taken part in the world’s biggest ever space hopper race. More than take part in fact, Ethan actually came first in the race.
So whilst at Butlins on holiday Ethan grabbed a space hopper and bounced his way to a second Guinness World Record entry, this time for the most bounces over a line in a minute. Ethan managed 62 bounces, beating the previous record of 60, and this week he received his certificates from Guinness.
“We were all on a family break to Butlins as the kids love it so much where we saw the activities being run by the record people” Ethan’s mum Anne explained.
“Ethan picked the space hopper among the other activities because he took part in the largest ever race last year and won!”
“The official Guinness World Record certificates have just arrived so we are hoping that Ethan’s record will be part of the book when it is published.”
Well done Ethan, Roy Castle is looking down from heaven and parping his trumpet with pride. I hope no one thinks it’s Gabriel!

I smashed the record at Butlins Skegness on 26th June 2011 by doing 86 bounces in one minute, and I was 10 when I did it.
