No huge surprises really here, ABC has cancelled two of it’s sci-fi shows, alien invasion drama ‘V’ and superhero caper No Ordinary Family.
‘V’ has been on shaky ground since season one, barely scraping through a second series. The reboot of the 80s science fiction classic was criticised last year for moving too slowly, but even with the increased pace of season two, and guest appearances from some of the original shows stars, the show has failed to live up to many people’s expectations.
Also never to return is superhero show No Ordinary Family. This is hardly surprising considering recent news that the shows two main stars, Julie Benz and Michael Chiklis, have both found themselves new jobs in the past few weeks. Despite showing a lot of promise the shows ratings began plummeting as the plot became more and more ridiculous from one week to the next.
As a small consolation ABC have picked up the new Charlie’s Angels pilot, so at least that hasn’t been axed before it’s even had a chance, unlike Wonder Woman and Locke & Key whose pilots haven’t been picked up this week.
