Man arrested for penis theft

A Nigerian man was arrested yesterday in suspicion of stealing a youth’s penis, by shaking his hand.

39-year-old Luka Audu was handed over to police yesterday after he was accosted by an angry mob in Kaduna. A 17-year-old youth, who’s mother demands remain anonymous, has accused Audu of stealing his reproductive organ, possibly through the use of voodoo black magic.

According to witnesses Audu had asked the youth for directions and on receiving them he thanked the boy by shaking his hand. But after walking a few feet away the boy and his companions began shouting “thief, thief!”

The mob then set about Audu, beating him and demanding that he return the boy’s missing genitals or they would kill him.

Town elders eventually convinced the mob to hand Audu over to the police, the youth was taken to a clinic to be properly examined and the police have vowed to investigate the case of the missing penis thoroughly. Audu remains in custody until the penis is found.
