Rob Kazinsky replaced in The Hobbit

Dean O'GormanBritish actor Rob Kazinsky dropped out of the forthcoming Hobbit movies last week, due to health reasons, and today his replacement has been announced.

Kiwi actor Dean O’Gorman has been chosen as the new Fili, he will now be teamed up with former Being Human star Aidan Turner who play Kili. The pair are young dwarf brother who make up part of the group of heroes in the two movies. O’Gorman, like so many actors from New Zealand, has previously appeared in the likes of Hercules, Young Hercules, Xena: Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker.

Also announced this week is the addition of American actor Lee Pace to the cast. Pace is probably best loved for his role as pieman Ned in Bryan Fuller’s Pushing Daises opposite Anna Friel. He has been cast in The Hobbit as the Elven King Thranduil.
