Mermaid found in Sri Lanka

A mysterious unidentified sea creature has been discovered washed ashore on a small island off the coast of Sri Lanka, which is where Arthur C. Clarke used to live.

The mystery creature has been sent to the headquarters of the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) for DNA testing to try and ascertain exactly what it is.

“The creature was found ashore about a week ago and even then the body was severely decomposed.” A NARA spokesperson said.

“It was a tough to identify the creature although we have assumed it be a marine mammal”

Villagers in the area have reported that the creature is the remains of a mermaid, due to its resemblance to a human being, but with a seriously aquatic rear-end.
