A butcher in Scotland is laying claim to the world’s spiciest sausage.
The “Devil’s Sausage” produced by Rendalls Quality Butchers in Raploch, Stirling contains pork, sweet chili, jalapenos and the so-called ghost pepper, Bhut Jolokia, which Guinness World of Records says is 401.5 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.
“We warn people ‘eat the devil’s sausage at your own risk’.” Butcher Jason Rendall says.
“The look on people’s faces is priceless. Big tough guys say ‘I’ll have one, no problem, I love hot food’, but after biting into their roll and sausage their expression soon changes and they’re reaching for a drink. They can’t handle it.”
The spicy sausages are proving a big hit with locals in Stirling, particularly hairy-arsed workmen who survive on diets of junk food.
“It’s hotter than hot.” One satisfied customer was quoted as saying, which of course makes no sense.
