Good and bad news from Aunty Beeb today, Being Human will be getting a fourth series but Outcasts will not be getting a second.
Both shows aired their series finales last night, Being Human drew in 1.1 million viewers to BBC Three, whilst over on BBC One, Outcasts played out it’s last ever episode on the Sunday night late spot it was shifted to after a lukewarm response from viewers.
This morning the Outcasts Twitter page rather unceremoniously announced “No series 2 Outcasts – we’re sorry.” And with that ended what looked like one of the best shows the BBC has produced for years.
Rather surprisingly, considering last night’s series finale, Being Human is set to return for a fourth season next year, albeit with a slightly smaller cast. Although anything is possible in television, characters can return from the grave, purgatory, piles of dust… in reality the logistics between Aidan Turner filming The Hobbit in New Zealand and trying to film Being Human in Wales might have just proved to be too difficult.
