Dinosaur drama Primeval will be back on UK screens on New Year’s Day according to BBC America.
There has been no proper confirmation of the show’s return by either ITV or Impossible Pictures, but BBC America have revealed that Primeval season four will premiere in the US on Saturday 1st January 2011, “the same day as its UK broadcast”.
When the show returns the story picks up a year after the events at the end of season three, with three of the main characters trapped somewhere in time. We can reveal that Abby (Hannah Spearritt) and Connor (Andrew Lee Potts) both make it back to the present day, only to find that the Anomaly Research Center have replaced them.
The new team members are Matt and Jess, played by Ciarán McMenamin and Ruth Kearney. Matt becomes the new team leader, an ex-military man who also happens to be a brilliant zoologist. Jess runs operations back at the ARC, and has a crush on Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield) who is also returning this season.
As ITV have yet to confirm the return date themselves there is no broadcast time available, but early evening on ITV1 on Saturday 1st January seems like a safe bet.
