Casting rumours for the impending third Ghostbusters film have been flying around this week, and Dan Aykroyd has been chatting about them.
The veteran comedian/actor was conducting an interview with a Chicago radio station this week and revealed that the rumoured favourites Anna Faris and Bill Hader are definitely on the top of list to star in the new movie.
Aykroyd has already explained that the new movie will involve a new generation of Ghostbusters who take over from the old-timers. The full original cast of Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray are all set to appear in the film, and a younger cast of new Ghostbusters will also feature. It seems likely that Faris and Hader will be cast, and Aykroyd also revealed that they are still in talks with Eliza Dushku who’s name has been linked with the new project for some time now.
Elizabeth Banks, Mos Def and Seth Rogen are also reported to be “strong possibilities” for the new line-up.
