Crow fans can breathe a sigh of relief, Marky Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he won’t be playing the lead role in the supposedly forthcoming reboot.
Last month the project was thrown into turmoil when Wahlberg was hotly tipped as the star of the new movie. News of Wahlberg’s involvement wasn’t the only problem, two days after that story broke the film’s director Stephen Norrington left the project saying that a new actor that had been brought on board had demanded a full script re-write.
The script in question was written by Norrington himself, and subsequently reworked by the one and only Nick Cave.
But Wahlberg is now trying to distance himself from the movie, and Norrington’s departure.
“We never committed to making the movie,” the ex-rapper said.
“They talked to me about it and there was a director attached who I was a fan of, and he’s no longer doing it. We just thought about it – ‘is there something cool to be done there?’ But we’re not committed to making the movie.”
So just where the Crow reboot stands now is unsure. There appears to be no lead actor, no director and no Nick Cave tweaked script.
