The CrowFollowing the recent news that ex-rapper Mark Wahlberg had been offered the lead role in the new Crow movie director Stephen Norrington has been sacked from the project.

Speaking to Mania this week the director revealed that he had been fired as writer/director after a an unnamed actor attached to the film demanded a complete rewrite of the script.

Norrington had written the script himself and singer/novelist Nick Cave had also worked on it, but now all that is out of the window, the movie has no director and it’s looking like Mark Wahlberg will be playing Eric Draven.

“I’m no longer involved with The Crow.” Norrington explained.

“As I had gotten involved explicitly as a writer-director my exit was inevitable. I was bummed. I had developed a genuinely authentic take that respected the source material while moving beyond it, and Nick Cave came in and added more depth. I think the fans would have been pleasantly surprised.”

Now we may never know.
