Man dies after being gored by a goat

An elderly hiker in America died this weekend after an aggressive goat fatally gored him.

63-year-old Bob Boardman was hiking in the Olympic National Park in the state of Washington on Saturday along with his wife and a friend. Around noon the trio stopped for lunch which is when the goat approached them menacingly.

Mr Boardman told the two ladies he was with to carry on down the trail while he attempted to scare the intimidating goat away. Unfortunately Mr Boardman was gored through the thigh by the grumpy goat and eventually bled to death due to his injuries.

Park rangers who eventually managed to reach the scene attempted to resuscitate Mr Boardman but to no avail. A Coast Guard helicopter was called and Mr Boardman was airlifted to hospital where he was announced dead on arrival.

The surly goat was shot and killed by rangers and it’s remains are being examined to determine whether the goat was sick when it attacked.
