For those of you who got to see Resident Evil: Afterlife this weekend your thoughts have been confirmed, Resident Evil 5 will be happening.
At least that’s what star of the franchise, and wife of the writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson had to say. Vulture caught up with Milla Jovovich yesterday and she told them that a fifth Resident Evil movie is definitely on the cards, and this time Resident Evil fans will get a chance to have a little input.
“This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at number one worldwide. It’s the biggest movie in the franchise,” Jovovich said.
“So we’re definitely going to make another one.”
Jovovich explained that her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson already has some ideas for the next installment, and the last few minutes of Resident Evil: Afterlife will give fans a huge hint as to what those ideas probably are. However the writer is also looking for some ideas from fans about which characters they would like to see in the next movie.
“We’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It’s going to be a more interactive process.”
