Sylvester McCoy has broken his silence on the Hobbit casting rumours surrounding him.
We reported a few weeks ago that the former Doctor Who was in the running to play Bilbo Baggins in the forthcoming Hobbit movie, but this weekend the Scottish actor has dispelled those rumours and stated that he is not being cast as Bilbo.
However, McCoy did confirm that he is in negotiations to play another role in the film, possibly a wizard.
“I am being cast in The Hobbit,” McCoy told the Dunoon Observer.
“We’re currently in negotiations – there are two of us under consideration. It’s not the Bilbo role, but could be bigger.”
Not sure quite what McCoy means by ‘bigger’, possibly taller than Bilbo? TheOneRing.net have speculated that McCoy may be up for the role of the wizard Radagast the Brown.
