World record Cornish pasty

The Proper Cornish Food Company believe they’ve set a new world record for the biggest ever Cornish pasty.

The company went to head to head with their rivals Lostwithiel Bakery in a challenge set by Monster Munchies TV show to produce the largest pasty in just 24 hours.

Mark Muncey from Proper Cornish had a team of six bakers that worked against the clock to produce a gigantic 850kg pasty that contained 165kg of beef on top of the other ingredients of potatoes, onions and swedes.

The challenge is due to be broadcast as part of an episode of Monster Munchies later in the year on the Good Food channel, which is 249 on your Sky remote.
