Woman decapitates her mother then jumps to her death

A woman in Hong Kong has attacked her own mother with a knife, beheaded the old dear and dived naked from their 11th floor apartment.

The murder-suicide took place on Sunday night in the Wong Tai Sin area of Hong Kong. The woman, believed to be in her 40s was known to be mentally ill and had been treated for her condition for years. Police and fire crews were called out at around 20:00 on Sunday night when the daughter called emergency services to tell them she was about to set her home on fire.

When emergency services arrived at the scene smoke was seen billowing from the apartment windows and the mentally ill woman’s naked body was found in the street below her flat. She had seemingly leapt to her death.

Fire crews broke down the door to the apartment and extinguished the flames, they then discovered the decapitated remains of the elderly mother.
