Macedonian chef sets new world record for cooking beans

BeansA chef and his team of cooks in a small village in Macedonia have set a new world record for the largest pot of cooking beans ever.

Chef Ljupco Gievski and six other members of his team all from the Alexander Palace Hotel cooked a huge pot containing a whopping 3,450 litres of beans. The full ingredients for the record breaking dish were 400kg of beans, 200kg of bacon, 2,600 litres of water, 40kg of onion, 70 litres of cooking oil, 8kg of red pepper, 9kg of salt, 3kg of pepper and around 100 bunches of parsley.

Tarika Vara from Guinness World of Records was there to act as official adjudicator and made the announcement that the team had set a new world record and presented them with a certificate.
