Cow gives birth to a pig

A distressed farmer in Zimbabwe says his cow has given birth to a pig.

Mr Tinos Mberi from Chatsworth says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw what the cow had given birth to.

“The whole body and size was that of a piglet. The nose and mouth was like that of a pig, except that it did not have a hairy body” the farmer said.

Unable to understand how a cow could give birth to a pig Mr Mberi was quick to lay the blame with witchcraft.

“I think it is the work of some black magicians. How can anyone explain such a horrible occurrence. It is the work of black magicians who are trying to scare me off the land”

Mr Mberi says his cow had given birth to calves every previous pregnancy, this was the first time it had given birth to a pig. Dr Ernest Dzimwasha, a local veterinary officer says the “piglet” is just a deformed calf.
