Nick CaveEd Pressman who is producing The Crow remake has revealed that Nick Cave is on board to rewrite the screenplay.

Last that was heard from Pressman was that he had a screenplay written by Blade director Stephen Norrington which he described as “terrific”. Well it seems he’s changed his mind because The Wrap have revealed that Pressman has enlisted none other than Nick Cave to rewrite the script.

Cave of course is not only an outstanding singer/songwriter but these days he’s a critically acclaimed screenwriter. Cave wrote, and appeared in the 1988 movie Ghosts… of the Civil Dead, directed by his old pal John Hillcoat. 17 years later Cave and Hillcoat teamed up once more on The Proposition, and it’s likely that Cave’s latest novel The Death of Bunny Munro will also been made into a television show.

I don’t know how exactly Pressman has managed to talk Cave into working on this project, but what I do know is it’s managed to squeeze even more coolness into what was already a great concept. Stephen Norrington is still on board to direct the film.

In other Nick Cave news his band Grinderman have just released the first single from their forthcoming album as an online streaming version. The single, entitled Heathen Child will be released proper on 6th September and a coloured vinyl 12″ with a poster will be available.
