Child decapitated in ritual human sacrifice

An 18-month-old boy has been brutally slaughtered in India as part of a ritual human sacrifice.

A 32-year-old man named Abdul Gafur was arrested yesterday and charged with the kidnapping and murder of Abdul Yusuf, a young toddler. Yusuf was nabbed from a mosque late on Friday night as he lay asleep next to his father. Gafur allegedly took the boy and beheaded him before drinking his blood believing that he would gain supernatural powers.

The headless body of the little boy was found buried at a shrine in the Ramanathapuram district, and his head was later discovered buried many miles away in the Tuticorin district. Gafur lives in the Tuticorin district where he practices in traditional medicine.
