Kylie will play a tattooed lesbian

Australian pop star and actress Kylie Minogue has been cast in a new romance/horror film entitled Jack and Diane.

The film will be directed by Bradley Rust Gray and stars British actress Juno Temple of St Trinian’s fame and Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough as two teenage lovers who meet in New York. The horror part seems to a werewolf element so it might turn out a little like Ginger Snaps, which might not be a bad thing when Kylie Minogue is thrown into the mix playing Tara, a heavily tattooed lesbian rock chick.

“Kylie does have one love scene where she kisses a girl,” a source said in a statement.

“Her fans will be surprised to see her in this role, but her performance is good.”

Kylie began her acting career on Australian soap operas such as Neighbours, since quitting the soap to become a pop star she has appeared in a number of feature films which were largely complete crap, other than the excellent Bio-Dome in 1996 and she also made a guest appearance in a Doctor Who Christmas special. Other notable acting work has included kicking ass in Street Fighter alongside the Muscles from Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Jack and Diane is currently in production and should hit US theatres in 2011.
