Denise Van Outen sets jelly eating record

Television presenter Denise Van Outen has made a bid for the Guinness Book of World Records by eating a record breaking portion of jelly.

As part of last night’s The FIve O’Clock Show on Channel 4 Denise and co-presenter Melanie Sykes both made world record attempts during the live broadcast. Denise, well known for her gobbling skills opted to go for the world record in eating jelly blindfolded without using her hands. The 36-year-old managed to swallow 250g of the slippery goo in just 60 seconds, a career in competitive eating surely beckons? Denise would definitely be a natural at slipping long wieners down her throat and with Kobayashi out of the picture Denise could be in with a chance at next year’s Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Melanie Sykes is also hoping to get in the record books for putting on the most hair rollers in one minute.
