A man in West Virginia has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse after he allegedly forced a four year old boy to eat a cat faeces sandwich.
22 year old Joseph Edward Jones from Mannington, Marion County, W.Va. was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of child abuse which allegedly took place in January 2008. Child Protective Services are investigating the allegations that Jones forced the young boy to eat a sandwich with cat poo on it, threw a toy car at his head which caused an injury, bit the child on the nose and tied him up with duct tape and bundled him into a tumble dryer.
The incidents were reported to have taken place two years ago when Jones lived with the victim and the victim’s mother, the allegations have only just come to light as the victim says he was threatened by Jones who said he would harm the boy’s mother if he told anyone what he had done.
Jones has admitted to injuring the boy using the toy car, but denies biting the child on the nose, despite the teeth marks still present on the boy’s face. Jones told police that he was suffering from anger management issues, the same anger management issues which led to a previous child cruelty conviction a few years ago. Jones claims he has since received treatment and no longer has difficulties controlling his temper.
Jones was taken to North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County, where he was being held on $30,000 cash or surety bond. He was released Tuesday.
