Former Doctor Who David Tennant is set to make his launch into American movie making by starring in the remake of the cheesy 80s vampire flick, Fright Night.
Tennant will be playing Peter Vincent, a role originally portrayed by the legendary Roddy McDowall. There have been a few changes from the original, McDowall’s character was the host of a late night horror show but Tennant’s will be a Las Vegas magician who claims to be a vampire expert. Terminator Salvation and Star Trek star Anton Yelchin will be playing the main lead, a teenager who has a vampire move in next door to him. The vampire in question will be played by Colin Farrell and Yelchin’s skeptical mother will be portrayed by Toni Collette.
If that cast didn’t sound great enough already it’s also been confirmed that Kick Ass actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse will be playing Yelchin’s best friend Evil Ed, who betrays his buddy to join the vampires.
Still no word on who will play Yelchin’s girlfriend in the remake, we’ll keep you posted as soon as we know ourselves.
