The 2010 British Shin Kicking Championships took place in Gloucestershire this weekend and Kieron Lee was crowned the new champion after beating the contest favourite, Gareth Price in the final.
Competitors first stuff straw down their socks and then try to knock their opponent to the ground with a series of swift kicks. The winner is simply the last man left standing after all rounds of the contest have been played out.
The event is part of the annual Cotswold ‘Olimpick’ which date from 1612, the brainchild of one Robert Dover and still take place on the hill that bears his name.
