A couple in Tokyo had their wedding ceremony carried out by a robot this morning, a world first.

Tomohiro Shibata and Satoko Inoue both work in the Japanese robotics industry so they decided to make history by having the world’s first ever robot officiated wedding.

The robot which carried out the ceremony is a Kokoro I-FAIRY, a 1.3m tall, pigtailed robot which was designed as a communications tool for use in office reception areas, museums or anywhere else where human visitors require automated instructions or information. A bit like C3-PO.
